On the World Day against Trafficking in Persons, the Department of Foreign Affairs and the Inter-Agency Council Against Trafficking (IACAT) reiterate the call to #StopHumanTrafficking. The advances in technology are both an opportunity and threat in the movement against human trafficking. Traffickers have gained numerous tools to recruit victims, organize their efforts, and hide their criminal enterprises. Nevertheless, technology is also a means to counter traffickers’ efforts and aid victims. The Philippines stands in solidarity with other countries and recognizes the need to leverage partnerships and technology to combat this scourge against human dignity.
