Hong Kong, 29 December 2022 – The Consulate General of the Philippines in Hong Kong staged the annual PaSTARan 2022 Lantern-Making Competition on 24 December 2022 at the Bayanihan Center in Kennedy Town. The theme for this year is “Kislap ng Tala para sa Bagong Simula.” Four (4) Filipino Community organizations joined the contest with the following being declared as the winners:
1. Grand Winner: United Migrants Entrepreneurship and Livelihood Association
2. 1st Runner-Up: United Nueva Vizcayanos Hong Kong
3. 2nd Runner-Up: Young Artist of Isabela
4. People’s Choice Award: United Migrants Entrepreneurship and Livelihood Association
The winners were awarded certificates of participation by PCG, as well as cash prizes in the amount of HK$5,000, HK$3,000, HK$2,000, for the grand winner, first and second place winners and HK$1,000, for the People’s Choice Award respectively, courtesy of LBC Hong Kong.
This year’s panel of judges include Social Welfare Attaché Remilene C. Marcelino, Assistant Labor Attaché Angelica N. Suñga, and Mr. Arnold Cereno, Manager of LBC Hong Kong.
The program also featured performances by the Migrant Ilonggo Cultural Dance Troupe Hong Kong, Mr. Eric B. Landicho and Ms. Jeanette Mariano Chan.
The PaSTARan 2022, and its entertainment segments, serve as a preliminary program prior to the Filipino Community’s Misa De Aguinaldo which is held every 24th December.
