Hong Kong, 30 October 2023 — A delegation from the Department of Tourism participated in the 2023 Sea Trade Cruise Asia Pacific held from 24-26 October 2023 at the JW Marriott Hotel Hong Kong. The delegation was led by Dr. Paulo Benito S. Tugbang, Director IV for Product and Market Development, Tourism Development Sector of the Department of Tourism, together with PDOT-Shanghai Tourism Attaché Ireneo Reyes, and cruise and port industry executives in the Philippines.

The 2023 Seatrade Cruise Asia Pacific is Asia’s largest cruise industry conference and attended by over 300 global cruise industry leaders, cruise port operators in the region and representatives from various tourism marketing organizations. The event featured thematic conferences and seminars to explore the developing trends in the cruise sector in Asia and regional partnership opportunities.

Dr. Paulo Tugbang served as one of the panelists in the discussion on Regional Cooperation: Navigating Challenges and Unity along with other regional representatives. The discussion covered some of the strides that have already been taken to facilitate greater regional cooperation, and further steps to be taken in the coming years aimed at fostering closer ties.
