After a three-year absence, the most anticipated “Concert in the Park” returned on 03 December 2023 at the Hong Kong Cultural Centre Piazza in Tsim Sha Tsui, Kowloon. The annual event is jointly presented by the Philippine Consulate General in Hong Kong in partnership with the Hong Kong Leisure and Cultural Services Department (LCSD) and Hong Kong Musicians Union (HKMU).
On its 37th edition, seven outstanding local bands bannered by Filipino musicians – H and Others, Thor and Band, Retro Groovers, The Big Band Express, Hybrid Stereo, Rewind Band, and Da Hiking Boyz – assembled to rock the night away in the spirit of harmony and cultural exchange. Over 12,000 spectators were treated to a show filled with musical entertainment and funny antics by the show’s hosts Michael Vincent and Jun “Tita Kerry” Paragas of the Hong Kong-based radio show Pinoy Tayo SanMan on Metroplus 1044 AM.
The live music fest has been a major annual activity of the Philippine Consulate General under the auspices of Philippines-Hong Kong Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) on Cultural Cooperation signed on 14 February 2003. The MOU aims to foster cultural exchanges especially through arts, culture and education.
