Hong Kong, 26 February 2024 - The Consulate General of the Philippines proudly extends its warmest congratulations to the Philippine Men’s Basketball Team, 𝑮𝒊𝒍𝒂𝒔 𝑷𝒊𝒍𝒊𝒑𝒊𝒏𝒂𝒔, for their resounding 94-64 win against Hong Kong in the 2025 FIBA Asia Cup Qualifiers 1st Window held on 22 February 2024 at the Tsuen Wan Stadium.
Led by its new Head Coach Tim Cone, 𝑮𝒊𝒍𝒂𝒔 set a triumphant record for their FIBA Asia Cup Qualifiers campaign, showcasing impressive teamwork against host Hong Kong with 33 assists. Justin Brownlee, with his exceptional performance, emerged as the player of the game with 16 points, 7 rebounds, 7 assists and 3 steals. The team’s victory was likewise achieved because of the significant contribution of Kai Sotto with 13 points, 15 rebounds, 2 blocks and a steal, behind rookie Kevin Quiambao’s 15 points, and ahead of Jamie Malonzo’s 11 points.
The overwhelming support of the Filipino community in Hong Kong served as a driving force for the Team.
