The Philippine Consulate General in Hong Kong invites everyone to join this year’s Asia-Pacific Ministerial Conference on Disaster Risk Reduction (APMCDRR) 2024 from 14-18 October 2024 at the International Convention Center in Manila, Philippines.

The Asia-Pacific Ministerial Conference on Disaster Risk Reduction (APMCDRR) is the main platform in Asia and the Pacific to monitor, review and enhance cooperation for the implementation of the Sendai Framework for Disaster Risk Reduction 2015-2030 at the regional level.

The Sendai Framework focuses on the adoption of measures which address the three dimensions of disaster risk (exposure to hazards, vulnerability and capacity, and hazard’s characteristics) in order to prevent the creation of new risk, reduce existing risk and increase resilience. It outlines seven global targets and four priorities to be achieved between 2015 and 2030.

For this year, APMCDRR will focus on Accelerating Progress in Disaster Risk Reduction (DRR) and offer an opportunity to share innovative solutions and make actionable commitments to reduce disaster risk.

APMCDRR 2024 will bring together around 3,000 delegates from the governments, intergovernmental, international, national and civil society organization, the private sector, science, academia and stakeholder groups to accelerate progress in reducing disaster risk.

Register as a delegate at https://indico.un.org/event/1010353/registrations/14779/. Applications will be accepted until 15 September 2024.

Be part of a global movement to enhance disaster resilience and share your insights with experts, policymakers, and community leaders from around the world. Don’t miss this opportunity to shape a safer and more resilient future!
