Hong Kong, 12 September 2024 – Ten (10) members of the Subcontinent Cricket Club Divas Pinay (SCC Divas HK), the first all-Filipina domestic helpers cricket team based in Hong Kong, founded in 2017, were selected to represent the Philippine National Team in the Southeast Asian Games 2023 held in Cambodia. Through hard work and dedication, the team finished second against seven (7) other teams and secured two silver medals in T10 and 6s categories.
Representatives of the SCC Divas HK comprising of Team Captain Catherine Liza Bagaoisan, Manager and Founder Animesh Kulkarni, and Coach Chandrashekar Parameswaran, paid a courtesy call on Consul General Germinia V. Aguilar-Usudan on 18 August 2024. The Team expressed their intent to generate more interest in the sport in the Philippines, particularly for Filipino women and girls, through their continued participation in international and local cricket tournaments and institution of local clubs in the Philippines.
Today, SCC Divas HK has over thirty (30) Filipina players and is currently preparing for the upcoming season of the Hong Kong Cricket Women’s League and SEA Games 2025.
