HONG KONG, 9 September 2024 — Fifteen (15) Filipino fashion brands were featured prominently at the CENTRESTAGE 2024 held from 4 to 7 September 2024 at the Hong Kong Convention and Exhibition Centre. These brands represented the Philippines under the country’s banner, “FASHIONPhilippines”.

The Philippine pavilion, at the Expo’s Craftsmanship Zone, showcased the country’s creative industries. The pavilion housed an array of premier and quality products, which included thoughtfully designed and exquisitely crafted clothes by fifteen (15) contemporary Filipino fashion brands namely: Basil, Erich Miñoza, Hilyah, Strong Village, Thian Rodriguez Manila, and Toping Zamora; culturally-infused and practical footwear by Roweliza and Zapateria, Inc.; and trendy, high-end, and sustainably-designed accessories by AGSAM Fashion Fern, Beatriz, Calli Bags, Mjorian, O’EL Designs, Vesti Bags and Virtucio. All featured Filipino brands wowed the international fashion crowd when they all took the center stage in one of the series of captivating fashion runway shows at the event showing an array of six (6) looks incorporating all of their designs.

Consul General Germinia V. Aguilar-Usudan showed her support at the FASHIONPhilippines Pavilion by attending the opening of Centrestage 2024 and congratulating all Filipino exhibitors for their participation in the Expo.

The Philippine Pavilion, organized by the Center for International Trade Expositions and Mission (CITEM), a marketing and export promotion arm of the Department of Trade and Industry (DTI), was set to astonish Hong Kong’s international fashion crowd with the artisanship of Filipino artists and designers as well as to promote the preservation of the Philippines’ rich cultural heritage. To provide the thousands of attendees further access to Philippine artistry and craftsmanship, the Philippine delegation likewise promoted the use of FAME+, a digital sourcing platform, and the upcoming Manila FAME, the Philippines’ premier trade show for quality home, fashion, and lifestyle products, which is scheduled from 17 to 19 October 2024 at the World Trade Center, Pasay City.

The CENTRESTAGE 2024, dubbed as the Asia’s Fashion Spotlight, was organized by the Hong Kong Trade Development Council (HKTDC), in partnership with big names in fashion such as Vogue Hong Kong, among others. The annual fashion event drew over 8,500 buyers from 82 countries and regions all over the world, making it a perfect platform for exhibitors to expand their customer base and explore markets of the creative sector in the region.
