The Philippines’ successful hosting of the International Conference on Women, Peace and Security (ICWPS) 2024 gathered 691 delegates with 27 ministerial levels and parliamentarians from 84 countries across 6 regions, weighed the progress on the women, peace, and security agenda and explored ways to strengthen women's role in peacebuilding.

The Conference, which carried the theme “Forging Collaboration and Convergence for Advancing Women, Peace and Security,” was held last 28 to 30 October at the Philippine International Convention Center (PICC), Pasay City.

The international event adopted the Pasay Declaration to reinvigorate the global efforts for forging collaboration and convergence to push for meaningful and substantive participation of women in all their diverse and intersecting identities in all facets of peace processes.

The event also featured the ceremonial signing of the Memorandum of Understanding on Women, Peace and Security between the Office of the Presidential Adviser on Peace, Reconciliation and Unity (Republic of the Philippines) and the Secretary’s Office of Global Women’s Issues (U.S. Department of State) which marked a significant step in advancing the WPS agenda. This partnership aims to strengthen support for women's leadership in peacebuilding and in fostering more inclusive, resilient communities.
