HONG KONG, 26 March 2025 — The Philippine Retirement Authority (PRA) recently participated and promoted retirement opportunities in the 6th International Immigration and Property Expo (IMPEX) 2025 held from 22 to 23 March 2025 at the Hong Kong Convention and Exhibition Centre. IMPEX is considered as the city’s largest event of its kind, serving as a one-stop-shop for individuals interested in global immigration options and overseas property investments.
Speaking at one of the featured seminars at IMPEX, the PRA showcased the Special Resident Retiree’s Visa (SRRV), its flagship program offering simplified residency procedure, tax exemptions, multiple-entry privileges and an indefinite stay in the Philippines. The SRRV is designed to provide a hassle-free and attractive option for retirees seeking to invest, work, or study while enjoying the Philippines’ 7,641 islands of adventure, vibrant culture, delicious cuisine and exceptional hospitality.
The PRA exhibitor’s booth promoted the country’s real estate opportunities, healthcare services, cultural attractions and tourist destinations to enhance the Philippines’ appeal as a retirement haven.
In the Philippines, foreigners may legally buy and own condominium units, whether for their personal use or for investment purposes. A 2-bedroom condominium unit in Metro Manila is priced from HK$500,000 (Php 3.5 million) to HK$2 million (Php 15 million) only, depending on the location, offering the buyers more value for their money.
Retiring in the Philippines offers a diverse blend of benefits, especially for those drawn to nature tourism, relaxation, and a laid-back lifestyle. Retirees can explore the pristine beaches, stunning landscapes and crystal-clear waters of Boracay, Palawan, Siargao, and Bohol. On the other hand, retirees who seek the thrill of adventure can enjoy surfing in Baler, diving in Mindoro, swimming with whale sharks in Cebu, viewing volcanic landscapes in Tagaytay and Zambales, hiking Mt. Apo in Davao, exploring hot springs in Laguna and even discovering mountain retreats in Baguio and Sagada.
Retirees under the SRRV program and their dependents may also choose to work in the Philippines, thereby enjoying further integration and exchange of mutual benefits with the local community.
Hong Kong, as Asia’s World City and with its rising population of seniors, is a prime destination for PRA’s promotion activities. The Philippine Consulate General in Hong Kong expressed its appreciation to PRA for its participation in IMPEX 2025 and committed to support its future endeavors.
IMPEX 2025, organized by CW Exhibition Services, attracted over 100 exhibitors, including leading immigration consultancy, property developers and brokerages, education consultancy, tax advisors, financial services providers and relocation services, offering the public a comprehensive view of global immigration and property investment options.
