Consul General Germinia V. Aguilar-Usudan officiated the ribbon-cutting ceremony along with Mr. Ferdinand Cacnio and other talented Filipino artists featured in the art exhibition “Unity in Diversity: Filipino Artists Across Borders,” held on 26 February 2025 at the Hong Kong Visual Arts Centre.

Hong Kong, 4 March 2025 – The Philippine Consulate General showed support to the launch of the art exhibition "Unity in Diversity: Filipino Artists Across Borders," organized by the Filipino-owned Hong Kong-based gallery, Galleria Camaya. The exhibition, which ran from 26 February to 3 March 2025 at the Hong Kong Visual Arts Centre (HKVAC), showcased a curated collection of contemporary artworks from more than sixty (60) established and emerging Filipino artists.

"Unity in Diversity" likewise commemorated the Philippine National Arts Month, highlighting the vibrant contributions of Filipino artists from diverse geographical backgrounds, including the Philippines, Hong Kong, New York, and London. The exhibition explored profound themes of identity, migration, and cultural fusion.

Consul General Germinia V. Aguilar-Usudan graced the event’s opening ceremony with notable Filipino artist Ferdinand Cacnio and other distinguished guests in a ceremonial ribbon-cutting. She expressed her gratitude to Galleria Camaya for providing a platform for Filipino artistic expression in Hong Kong. She hailed the event as a testament to the creativity and resilience of Filipino artists, whose creations resonate with both Filipinos and international audiences.

Building on Galleria Camaya's successful history of international art diplomacy—including previous exhibitions in Vienna and New York—the "Unity in Diversity" exhibit invited artists to challenge stereotypes and explore cultural complexities, inspiring audiences to reimagine the global Filipino experience.

The exhibition featured a diverse array of artworks that captured innovative perspectives on contemporary Filipino identity, fostering cross-cultural exchange and appreciation.
