Philippine Consul General in Hong Kong Antonio A. Morales expressed his desire on Wednesday, 31 January 2018 to collaborate with the Canadian Consulate General on combatting human trafficking during his courtesy call on Consul General Jeff Nankivell.

Consul General Morales said that one of his top priorities during his stint has head of post of the Philippine Consul General is to implement initiatives to fight human trafficking, especially those involving Filipino workers in Hong Kong, a number of whom plan to work in Canada as caregivers. 

Consul General Morales and Consul General Nankivell also discussed issues concerning their respective communities in Hong Kong which are two of the largest foreign population in the Territory. 

Among the other issues discussed as programs to protect their respective nationals and projects to improve consular services. 

Consul General Morales noted that the Philippine Consulate General is exploring the possibility of implementing a passport appointments mobile app for the convenience of the Filipino Community in Hong Kong.
