HONG KONG, 19 March 2018 – The Philippine flavored fried potato chain Potato Corner, opened its third store in Hong Kong on Sunday, 19 March 2018 at Causeway Bay, a popular shopping district on Hong Kong Island where the most expensive commercial rent spaces in the world are found.
Consul General Antonio A. Morales cut the ceremonial ribbon to open the latest branch inside Jardine’s Bazaar, just adjacent to the world-famous Causeway Bay pedestrian crossing.
The Potato Corner team included its company officials Ms. Kathryna Manalo-International Operations General Manager, Mr. Keempee Gacula-International Business Development Manager, Mr. Edmond Kam-Managing Consultant, and local franchisees Mr. Dwight Tondares, Ms. Chiclet Tondares, Ms. Melissa Caluag, and Mr. Ryan Maniago.
In his congratulatory remarks, Consul General Morales noted that Potato Corner is not only selling a quality product but is also promoting to Hong Kong the best of the Philippines as the city is a tourist capital with many people from all over the world visiting.
Right after the ribbon cutting ceremony, fried potato aficionados – mostly made up of locals – queued to have a taste of the Philippines’ famous flavored fries.
Potato Corner has two other stores in the territory: one in Tsim Sha Tsui and another in Prince Edward.
Since coming to Hong Kong last year, Potato Corner has been making waves in the city and has been featured in local food blogs and publications, as well as social media platforms.
