Labor and Employment Undersecretary Atty Claro A. Arellano made a courtesy visit to Consul General Antonio A. Morales at the Philippine Consulate General in Admiralty in Hong Kong’s Central District on 13 May 2018.
Undersecretary Arellano, who attended earlier in the week a regional forum on financial technology to look for ways to facilitate more secure and affordable remittances to the Philippines for millions of overseas Filipino workers, also met with officials of the Philippine Overseas Labor Office (POLO), led by Officer in Charge Atty. Also joining the call on Consul General Morales were Deputy Consul General Roderico C. Atienza, Assistant Labor Attaché Angelica M. Sunga, and Consul Paulo V. Saret.
Undersecretary Arellano, who was appointed last year to lead the Legal, Legislative and International Affairs cluster of the Department of Labor and Employment, manages all the POLOs worldwide as part of his responsibilities as head of the International Labor Affairs Bureau (ILAB).
