PCG renews partnership, support to HK Trade Dev’t Council
Consul General Antonio A. Morales expressed to the Hong Kong Trade Development Council (HKTDC) executives the Philippines’ continued partnership with and support for the Council’s initiatives at HKTDC’s annual networking reception held on 12 June 2018 at the HK Convention and Exhibition Centre (HKCEC).
Consul General Morales underscored to the Philippines’ attractiveness as an ideal investment hub to HKTDC Executive Director Margaret Fong, who welcomed the consular corps representatives of local, Chinese and international firms to renew ties with her team at the HKTDC Regional and Branch Directors at the HKCEC’s Expo Galleria.
Consul General Morales was accompanied at the event by Deputy Consul General Roderico C. Atienza and the Consulate’s Political-Economic Section, headed by Vice Consul Fatima G. Quintin.
During her welcome speech, Executive Director Fong underlined HKTDC’s expanding reach. HKTDC opened four offices last year, including its Consultant Office in Manila, which opened in late November 2017. To date, HKTDC has 50 offices worldwide.
Philippine Secretary of Foreign Affairs Alan Peter Cayetano was also the guest speaker during the investment mission’s luncheon on 24 April.
The cocktail cum networking reception with HKTDC Regional and Branch Directors was also an opportunity for the Consulate to meet its partners and collaborators in the business community.
