Two dozen pastors and lay leaders representing 16,000 Filipino Christians in Hong Kong called on Consul General Antonio A. Morales on 25 July 2018 to express their intention to work with the Philippine Consulate General in the territory and invite a representative to their 25th anniversary celebration later in the week.

Rev. Edward L. Galang, President of Filipino Ministerial Fellowship International (FMFI), the biggest organization of Filipino Christians living in Hong Kong, said the membership has grown significantly since the group was founded AS FMF in October 1993.

Congratulating the group on its silver jubilee celebrations, Consul General Morales encouraged FMFI leaders to continue administering to Filipino Christians, who may not have the kind of spiritual support they are used to back home.

There are around 60 pastors and 80-100 co-pastors and lay leaders belonging to FMFI. While the number of Filipino Christians in Hong Kong is not known, most of the 226,000 Filipinos in Hong Kong are presumed to be Catholic.

Rev. Galang welcomed Deputy Consul General Roderico C. Atienza at FMFI’s 25th anniversary gathering at Saint Andrews Church on Nathan Road in Tsim Sha Tsui.
