Consul General Antonio A. Morales discussed possible collaboration on projects especially benefiting Filipino workers in Hong Kong with Ms. Chona Ponce, Senior Vice President and Managing Director of Rsi International, on 19 August 2018 at the Philippine Consulate General in Admiralty, Central district.

Ms. Ponce is a Hong Kong-based Filipino executive with over 25 years of work experience in the fashion accessories and jewelry sector. Rsi International is the sourcing arm of Claire’s Stores Inc., an American chain of retail accessory and jewelry stores catering mainly to teens and young women.

During her courtesy call to Consul General Morales, Ms. Ponce shared her insights on the manufacturing industry, as well as prospects for the Philippines in this sector.

Consul General Morales commended Ms. Ponce for her success as a business executive, and informed her of the Consulate’s priority objective of providing capacity building initiatives for Filipinos in Hong Kong, one of which is financial literacy for OFWs.

He proposed that Ms. Ponce consider contributing to furthering the skills of OFWs, particularly on business endeavors. The latter welcomed the proposal and looked forward to further discussing the initiative with the Consulate.
