Consul General Antonio A. Morales paid tribute to the work of one of the pillars of the Filipino Roman Catholic religious community in Hong Kong, Sr. Felicitas Nisperos, RGS, during a celebration of her 86th birthday at the Diocesan Pastoral Centre for Filipinos and Other Asian Migrants and Ethnic Minorities (DPCM) in Central.

Known to the Filipino community in Hong Kong as “Sister Felicitas”, the Catholic nun is widely known among Filipino Roman Catholics for decades, and a longtime partner of the Philippine Consulate General in assisting Filipinos in distress.

During his remarks, Consul General Morales thanked Sr. Felicitas for her immeasurable contribution to uplifting the spirit of Filipinos in Hong Kong, 206,000 of them are OFWs. He honored her for her tireless efforts in ensuring the welfare of Filipino workers, particularly in providing shelter for distraught workers and capacity building programs.

The birthday celebration was organized by DPCM-Saturday Group.

The Philippine Consulate General’s Social Welfare Attaché, Ms. Elizabeth L. Dy, accompanied Consul General Morales during the event.
