Philippine Consul General in Hong Kong Antonio A. Morales expressed appreciation on Friday, 30 November 2018 for the International Social Service Hong Kong Branch’s (ISS-HK) continued partnership and cooperation, especially in implementing capacity-building initiatives for Filipino migrant workers in Hong Kong.

Consul General Morales made the remarks at the NGO’s 60th Anniversary Dinner was hosted by ISS-HK Chairman, Mr. C.P. Ho, for members of the consular corps, business community and civil society at the Kowloonbay International Trade & Exhibition Centre in Kowloon Bay, Hong Kong.

ISS-HK has been commissioned by the Hong Kong Government to operate a number of programs for new arrivals from mainland China and ethnic minorities, including provision of assistance for non-refoulement claimants. Adrielle Pañares, a Filipino resident of Hong Kong, is ISS-HK’s Director for Migrants Programme.

ISS-HK has been a partner of the Philippine Consulate General in providing training programs for its personnel and the Filipino Community in Hong Kong, including Cantonese classes and client service workshops.
