Philippine Consul General Antonio A. Morales participated in the 22nd Hong Kong Business Summit to explore how technology is being utilized to maximize businesses in the daylong event organized by the Hong Kong General Chamber of Commerce (HKGCC) at the Grand Hyatt Hong Kong on 3 December 2018.

The event, themed “The Internet of Life,” featured tech giants and trailblazers in digital economies like Ms Jennifer Tan, CEO of AlipayHK, Lalamove Founder and CEO Shing Chow, SenseTime Managing Director and Head of Strategic Investments Esther Wong, and Tink Labs Founder and CEO Terence Kwok. It was attended by members of the consular corps, business leaders and industry stakeholders.

Mr. Aron Harilela, HKGCC Chairman and Chairman and CEO of Harilela Hotels Ltd, welcomed participants to the Summit, which sought to highlight how digital innovation is improving the quality and efficiency of services, from both a business and customer perspective, and contributing to a more productive, convenient and secure way of life.

A number of the Chamber's General Committee members spoke about how their companies are adapting to fast-moving technological changes.

Mr Lincoln Leong, CEO of MTR Corporation Ltd, HSBC Deputy Chairman and Chief Executive Peter Wong, Cathay Pacific Airways Chairman John Slosar, and CLP Power Vice Chairman Betty Yuen, discussed how their businesses are using digital transformation to provide value-added products and services, and at the same time contribute to Hong Kong's smart city development.
