The Philippine Consulate General in Hong Kong arranged key activities to support Chairman Dante LA. Jimenez and his team from the Presidential Anti-Corruption Commission (PACC), during the Commission’s visit to Hong Kong for consultations with relevant Hong Kong government agencies and other stakeholders.

Chairman Jimenez said that their Hong Kong mission, including a key first-ever official meeting with Hong Kong counterpart Independent Commission Against Corruption (ICAC), is part of President Rodrigo R. Duterte’s zeal and campaign to combat corruption in the government.

Consul General Antonio A. Morales led the welcome to the PACC team, which included Commissioner Manuelito R. Luna, Executive Director Eduardo V. Bringas, and Senior Administrative Assistant III Joseph L. Sorra, during their entire three-day official visit to the territory.

Chairman Jimenez and his team, accompanied by Consulate officials, met with ICAC Commissioner Simon Peh Yun-lu and Public Service Commission (PSC) Chairman Rita Lau Ng Wai-lan to learn more about Hong Kong’s anti-corruption initiatives and civil service, as well as to draw best practices on professionalizing the Philippine government’s anti-corruption work.

PACC also took the opportunity to meet with Consulate personnel and the Filipino Community media to brief them on the Commission’s work, directives and achievements to date.

During their Hong Kong visit, Consul General Morales expressed his appreciation for PACC’s visit which enabled the Consulate, Filipino community and relevant offices in Hong Kong to understand better PACC’s efforts and campaign against corruption, as mandated by Executive Order No. 43 signed by President Duterte on 4 October 2017.
