The Philippine Consulate General, in coordination with the Hong Kong Fire Services Department ( HK FSD) conducted its Gender and Development (GAD) activity entitled “Fire Safety Training for HK PCG Personnel”. A total of 35 personnel from Post and its attached agencies (POLO, OWWA, and SSS) participated in the training.
The resource speaker for the activity is Mr. Chiu, Wing-Fai, Assistant Divisional Officer, Community Emergency Preparedness Division, Fire Safety Command of the HK FSD. The HK FSD is an emergency services provider which focuses on Fire Suppression, Rescue Services, Fire Protection, Emergency Ambulance Services, and Development and Staff Training/Management.
The training provided lecture on topics such as identification of fire hazards and classification of fire, fire service installations and equipment, evacuation procedures, and fire prevention measures. This was followed by a demonstration and an exercise on the proper handling of fire extinguisher.
This GAD activity was intended to provide its participants with valuable knowledge and skills needed for fire prevention and how to respond quickly when faced with a fire break-out.
