
The Philippine Consulate General participated in the 30th edition of the Hong Kong Trade Development Council (HKTDC)’s 2021 Education and Career’s Expo, held from 15 to 18 July 2021, at the Hong Kong Convention Exhibition Center (HKCEC).
The Education and Careers Expo featured 800 exhibitors, including educational institutions, government departments, public organizations, professional associations and private enterprises representing 14 countries and regions.
Ms. Ingrid Yeung, Permanent Secretary for the Civil Service of the Hong Kong SAR, officiated at the opening ceremony of the Expo on 15 July 2021.

The Consulate’s booth located at the International Exchange Village Zone promoted the Philippines as an alternative destination for pursuit of higher education through dissemination of brochures from the University of the Philippines (UP), University of Sto.Tomas (UST), and the De La Salle University (DLSU).
The Consulate also featured a series of video presentations highlighting the high-quality education, programs and curriculum being offered by the aforementioned Universities to international students.
Philippine local snacks such as dried mango rind candies and local chocolates as well as copies of “Carillion”, the official publication of the UP Alumni, were disseminated during the duration of the Education and Careers Expo.
The Careers Section of the Expo provided information on various industries while the educational section was divided into six (6) zones such as Self-Betterment Zone, Tertiary Academy Zone, Vocational and Professional Education Zone, Continuing Education Zone, Creative and Educational Support Services Zone and International Exchange Village.
The 2021 Education and Careers Expo which coincided with HKTDC’s Book Fair, Sports and Leisure Expo and World of Snacks”, successfully concluded on 18 July 2021.
