The Philippines participated in 31st edition of the 2021 Hong Kong Trade and Development Council (HKTDC) Food Expo, held from 12 to 16 August 2021 at the Hong Kong Convention Exhibition Centre (HKCEC).

The HKTDC Food Expo was held concurrently with the HKTDC Hong Kong International Wine & Spirits Fair (Special Edition), HKTDC Hong Kong International Tea Fair, HKTDC Home Delights Expo and HKTDC Beauty & Wellness Expo.

Guest of Honour Hong Kong Secretary of Commerce and Economic Development (HK-CED) Mr. Edward Yau, along with HKTDC Chairman Dr. Peter K.N. Lam, and HKTDC Executive Director Ms. Margaret Fong, officiated at the opening ceremony of the five exhibitions on 12 August 2021.

Consul General Raly L. Tejada, along with the other members of the consular corps and the business community in Hong Kong, attended the opening ceremony.

The 2021 HKTDC Food Expo gathered exhibitors from 10 countries and regions such as the Philippines, Korea, Japan, Poland, Cambodia, Norway, Thailand, Vietnam, Hong Kong and the Mainland.

With an aim to promote the export-quality products from the Philippines and attract potential distributors and importers, the two Philippine booths, each located at the HKCEC’s Public Hall and Gourmet Zone, showcased the unique flavors of the Philippines through a wide-array display of premium, healthy and organic products from the different regions in the Philippines.

Philippine Booths at the 2021 HKTDC Food Expo

The successful participation of the Philippines in the 2021 HKTDC Food Expo is a collaborative effort between the Philippine Consulate General and the Philippine Trade Investment Center in Hong Kong.

A display of the export-ready and healthy and organic products from the participating companies from the Philippines i.e. AgriNurture, Inc.; Appetissant Group Corporation; B&C Healthy Snack Food Inc.; Century Pacific Agricultural Ventures, Inc.; Eng Seng Food Products; Fenor Foods International Corp.; Gerb Golden Hands Trading; General Nutrifoods Philippines, Inc.; Glorious Industrial & Development Corp.; Good Sense Food & Juices Corporation; JNRM Corporation; Marigold Manufacturing Corporation; Olivia’s Coffee Seed Corporation; Pascioloco Agri Ventures; Sagrex Foods, Inc.; SL Agritech Corporation; Soyuz Foods International, Inc.; Tiger Craft Food & Beverage Company, Inc.; and, Vegetari Vegetarian Products.

The week-long HKTDC exhibitions drew to a successful close on 16 August 2021 bringing together a total of 900 exhibitors and 370,000 visitors.
